Integrated Wisdom

Preview: Changing the Narrative on Suicide — Why Spirituality Matters

Tatiana Da Silva Episode 69

This week’s episode is a short but important check-in.

With World Suicide Prevention Day approaching — and this year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” — I wanted to preview what’s ahead on Integrated Wisdom.

➡️ Next week, I’ll be dedicating a full episode to how spirituality can play a protective role in suicide prevention. We’ll explore how meaning, connection, and evidence-based spiritual practices can support those at risk — and how they can resource therapists who often carry this work in silence.

➡️ The following week, I’ll share my vision for the world we could create if we remembered our spiritual essence.

Both conversations feel deeply aligned with the needs of the current moment - expanding beyond pathology and despair, into hope, connection, and meaning.

Tatiana:

Welcome to the Integrated Wisdom Podcast. I am your host, Tatiana Da Silva, psychologist, spiritual educator, and founder of a body of work devoted to lead others to remembering what we never truly forgot, that science and spirit were never separate. They are each in their own way, expressions of the same sacred architecture. This podcast is for the quiet revolutionaries, the therapists, the seekers, the spiritually discerning and scientifically curious who know that we are being called into a new paradigm for personal and collective transformation. Together we explore what it means to live a coherent soul led life drawing from psychology, neuroscience, epigenetics, energy medicine, and spiritual remembrance. These aren't just conversations. They are transmissions for those ready to return to what's true, to what's quietly waiting beneath it. hello and welcome back to the Integrated Wisdom Podcast. Thank you so much for joining me again today. Today's episode is very, very, very short. Um, I just wanted to stop by and let you all know what's coming up because the next two conversations feel especially important. Ordinarily today would be the day that I would publish an episode. However, next Wednesday, the 10th of September is World Suicide Prevention Day, and this year's theme is'Changing the narrative on Suicide'. That struck me very deeply because one of the most important shifts that we can make is expanding the conversation beyond just pathology and crisis management. And steering it more towards meaning, connection, and the role spirituality can play as a protective factor. So I decided to publish an episode next week instead, where I'll be dedicating the full episode to this topic. We will explore how spirituality can help prevent suicide and what the research evidence is showing on this. We're going to explore how it can support those that are struggling and increase their resilience and we'll explore how it can resource therapists who so often hold this weight in the room and then the following week after that. I will be sharing something very close to my heart, my vision for the world that we can create if we're reconnected with our spiritual essence. That's truly the bigger why behind everything that I do, and it builds directly on this conversation about despair, prevention, and hope. And so that's what's ahead, two conversations that feel very timely, Urgent and deeply aligned with this moment. If you haven't already, I invite you to please make sure that you subscribe to the podcast so that you don't miss them. And if you know anybody else who would benefit from these conversations, please share the podcast with them now so that they can subscribe to and listen when these episodes become available next week. Now, if in the meantime you'd like to start exploring a little bit more, I invite you to check out my free micro course on the Science of Spirituality. three video lessons where we talk a little bit about what the science is showing in relation to the benefits that spirituality has for our mental health and wellbeing.
